<blockquote data-quote="wEBot" data-source="post: 2630" data-attributes="member: 17"><p>So I had been in Sales for a Design Company and was on a base salary + commission offering, and I recently switched to freelancing for them which meant I would just get the commission and not the base pay.</p><p></p><p>This is a Design Company which is really expensive as per the Indian Market so targets the US/UK Demographic and wants big projects only. While I was working there I realized that the Upper Level took over 90% of the profits and gave very little to the employees as such, to such an extent that I pitied the employees for doing such great work day in and day out and not being compensated even close to what they really deserve. This also led to the change in almost the whole workforce every 6 months in the company as employees would have to leave due to less compensation even though they were doing great work to satisfy their creative thirst.</p><p></p><p>I always wanted to change this, so when I was freelancing for them and stumbled upon a potential lead that had a relatively small requirement for the company, I decided to take the work for myself and deliver with the help of a developer friend.</p><p></p><p>I somehow managed to talk this lead into paying a 50% advance on Paypal without even a 网站, and I couldn't even myself believe what just happened. I had nothing to show him except my LinkedIn profile, no recommendations, no 网站, no registered domain, no previous work nothing and yet somehow I managed to make a sale for a company that I created out of thin air in middle of the conversation.</p><p></p><p>We have successfully delivered the project and now I have hired a Designer as well to actually take this thing forward. The people I have hired are excellent at what they do and the fact that we are just a company of 3 people now really helps to take much faster and concrete decisions. We have started to work on our second project which we got via referral from our first client.</p><p></p><p>I plan to make it big yet keep the company small, doing actually what we want to do to and yet pay the bills.
